October 2004 Lee Wilson Workshop

On Sunday 3rd October Australian Bonsai Master Lee Wilson conducted two Workshop for members of Bonsai Northwest. Lee did a wonderful job on all the material presented to him.

David's little black pine needed refinement.

Lee explaining his ideas for the pine to David.

The basic styling is complete with some wiring of the apex and refinement of the jin still required.

A very tall (and heavy) ceder was brought in to be restyled.

Lee looks for the front of the tree.

Final look for the tree.

Barry brought in this beautiful rock.

But which trees would he use with this beautiful rock.

Lee chose 3 corky bark chinese elms.

Final design. Stunning!

Ted brought in this Black pine.

Nick brought in this lovely cascading juniper.

Lee hunts around for the front and main branches.

Michael brought in this olive.

After the initial styling.

A large pittospurm (not the best material for bonsai) was brought in to be restyled.

Emphasis should be made on the trunk and deadwood as the foliage doesn't back bud well.
