May 2004 Triple Demonstration

Robert Ferreri, Ian Barnes and David Nassar took to the stage in a triple demonstration. It was Robert and Ian's first time on stage doing a demonstration and David has only been up there once before. Nothing like breaking in new demonstrators than by throwing them straight into the fire.

Robert chose this celtis to work on.

Ian had first choice of this ceder.

David was left with the black pine.

Robert looking over his tree.

Ian explains to the crowd what he intends to do with the ceder.

David explains his plans for this pine.

Robert explained how he found his first few branches but then ran into problems in the apex. The apex had many heavy branches that needed removal.

Ian showed how great movement in the lower half of the trunk enabled him to remove the top half of the tree.

David shows the nice movement and nebari on the pine. He explains he wants to create a small tree that looks old.

The boys get to work.
