This trident was in for a root pruning
Craig's goal was maximum fine rootage
He achieved this in a couple of years simply with careful pruning of the larger roots
This trident will go back into a large pot and be grown on. Eventually, all the branches will cut off and news ones seleted.
A good audience of 56 for a cold Wintery, Melbourne night.
For the uninitiated, t's great to see root pruning at first hand. Not so scary when you have to do it yourself.
The flare of the trunk and the fine roots are very pleasing.
His trees showed great health.
And excellent design skills.
Craig owns and runs the Gentiana Nursery in Melbournes Dandenong Ranges, which satisfies his other passion of Alpine plants.
