Paul Sweeney makes a welcome return visit in May 2001.

Paul last visited us 18 moths ago and created a Driftwood Juniper. The Juniper made a return visit last night for everyone to see the progress. Paul also created a 'rockscape' and restyled an old Mugho Pine.

Paul Sweeney, who runs "Bonsai, the Imagination Tree" nursery in Melbourne's Dandenong Ranges.

Paul's driftwood Juniper some 16 months later
The idea was for a large rock to be the centrepiece of a 'rockscape'
Paul needed to stand the rock upright, so car body filler came into play..
Whilst the car body filler was setting, Paul worked on this Mugho Pine.
His intention was to create a semi cascade from the tree.
Off came the top two branches with many hours of jin and shari to come!

Back to the rock and the car body filler
Paul added more, smaller rocks around the base.
He used the car body filler to hold the rocks in place and to give them a solid flat base. The filler set in about 15 minutes.
Once again, a great audience of 55 attended the evening.
The rocks were in position and ready to be mossed.
