April 2000 - A Potting Night for Members

At our potting nights, members are encouraged to bring trees or stock that they are confused/stuck/bewildered by. We find an experienced member to help reshape or repot the tree while the owner helps. Often, experienced members will bring their own trees and work on them so that newer members can benefit from the observation.

A good rollup of members for the first potting night of the year.
Lola gets some good advice from expert Ron
Alan helps out with this Stone Pine
Irene as usual, working on huge stock.
Yuri & Laurie work on some Desert Ash seedlings
Nick seems to be deep in thought over this Pine
Barry from the tree's point of view!
Ron and Bruce caught unawares
Grace works steadily on this Blue Spruce
Lola and Ron are all hands on with this little saikei
Steve and Barbara chatting during the night
Lola proudly holds up her newly potted Juniper. Looking good too!
Even the kids join in! At Bonsai Northwest, we encourage members of all ages and Leigh Marshall at 11 years old is no exception.

He promises me that he helps look after this little Picea setting.

Good to get members when they're young and enthusiastic!
